چکیده
Abstract The joint between different lightweight materials plays a significant role in multi-material design of structural components for the automotive industry, aiming to reduce vehicle’s weight without compromising performance or safety. Yet, conventional mechanical joining technologies metals and Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymers (CFRP) result either hole being drilled composite material, leading damages which load bearing capacity, part increased due incorporation fasteners. At same time, alternative methodologies involve complex costly processing, hindering their industrial application. This work presents new, simple, cost-efficient non-weight penalizing technology metal sheet fibre reinforced polymer prepregs consisting single-step punching process. In this process, metallic is completely perforated, while prepreg not. punch pushes carbon fibres through hole, with no, minimal breakage, generating interlock. shear strength absorbed energy co-cured increase interlocking joint.

In-vitro MRI detectability of interbody test spacers made of carbon fibre-reinforced polymers, titanium and titanium-coated carbon fibre-reinforced polymers.
The purpose of this study was to investigate how different materials affect the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) detectability of interbody test spacers (ITS). We evaluated the post-implantation MRI scans with T1 TSE sequences for three different ITS made of titanium, carbon fibre-reinforced polymers (CFRP) and titanium-coated CFRP, respectively. The main target variables were total artefact vo...
متن کاملPunching shear strength of steel fibre reinforced concrete slabs
The ultimate strength of reinforced concrete slabs is frequently governed by the punching shear capacity, which may be increased with addition of traditional fitments such as reinforcing steel, headed studs or shear heads. In addition to these traditional methods of strengthening against punching, steel fibre reinforcement has proved to be an effective and viable alternative. The addition of fi...

متن کاملBond Development Between Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers and Concrete
Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets can be externally bonded for retrofit of concrete structures, improving flexure and sheer strength in the concrete. The key to CFRP sheets is the bond to the concrete, as bond is the means to transfer stress between the tow sheet and the concrete. Experimentation has been conducted to test a current market fiber-resin system, and to develop a resin ...
